FAQ

On Chrome browser (same process on Firefox too):

1. Visit https://metamask.io/

2. Click "Get Chrome Extension". You will be directed to Chrome Web Store.

3. Click "Add to Chrome"

4. On the pop-up, click "Add extension"

5. After adding the MetaMask extension, you'll return to your browser page. MetaMask will appear on your browser.

MetaMask also exist as a standalone app on IOS and Android.

To add Base as a custom network to MetaMask:

1. 1. Open the MetaMask browser extension.

   2. Open the network selection dropdown menu by clicking the dropdown button at the top of the extension.

   3. Click the Add network button.

   4. Click Add a network manually.

   5. In the Add a network manually dialog that appears, enter the following information for Base mainnet:

Network Name Base Mainnet

Description The public mainnet for Base.

RPC Endpoint https://mainnet.base.org

Chain ID 8453

Currency Symbol ETH

Block Explorer https://explorer.base.org

Tap the Save button to save Base as a network.

You should now be able to connect to the Base by selecting it from the network selection dropdown menu.

Alternatively, you can navigate to https://basescan.org/, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the "Add Base to MetaMask" button for a 1 click installation.

1. Open the MetaMask extension or mobile app and log in

2. On the top left corner, select the Base Mainnet

3. Then scroll down at the bottom of the extension view and click + import tokens

4. Click on the Custom Token tab

5. Enter the CDUK token contract address: 0xf9b4647a98f7d8e6a8a3486687c6fffe79e9c68e

6. Click next and save

If the token symbol and token decimal don't autofill:

Symbol: CDUK

Decimal: 18

Base network operates on an Ethereum (ETH) layer 2 chain, utilizing ETH for transaction gas fees. With Base, transaction fees are exceptionally low, often just a few cents, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Additionally, transactions are processed rapidly and securely, enhancing overall usability and appeal.

So in order to make transaction on that network, you will need to have at least a few dollars worth of ETH.

One of the simplest methods to purchase ETH is by creating an account on Coinbase (https://www.coinbase.com/), a platform offering various assets for purchase. Coinbase accepts payments through PayPal, providing a convenient payment option. 

Alternatively, you can use Moonpay (https://www.moonpay.com/buy), which accepts card payments, for another streamlined purchasing experience.
